Why We Created a Brand
The Universe has a funny way of throwing people into your lives at just the right moment. Two years ago, Emily and I experienced this. We reconnected over a shared goal of starting a creative project. We talked on Zoom for an hour and discussed what that could look like. Though we had no concept of what our project was going to be, we identified our core — we each wanted to lead a purposeful life, connect with ourselves and others, and live in a zone of creativity.
And so the podcast was born. It felt like the right medium to start with so that we could share stories, learn more about each other, and find our voice. It’s been eight months and we’ve successfully published twenty episodes. It feels good to have built something, stuck with it, and today, feel like there’s even more to do. So, what’s next? Build, build, and build some more.
We started by identifying what we loved so much about podcasting. We realized the excitement for us was in the meaningful connection we were forming and the honest self-exploration we each were doing. It’s so rare in adulthood that we slow down, ask and answer deep questions, and publicly display vulnerability. We also loved leaning into the idea of focusing less on future plans and more on the present moment.
This concept felt bigger than just a podcast. So, we started this community, this site, this brand called PS We Have No Plan. Here we want to celebrate the messiness of growing up, the power of connecting over self-discovery, and the adventure that lies in the unknown. We don’t have everything figured out, not even close, but that’s sort of the point. Instead of trying to be perfect, we want to be real and in doing so, elevate our everyday moment.
We want to learn by trying, discover the world by sharing stories, and find new ways to appreciate the present moment. Our hope is that this space becomes something you can refer to when you need a reminder to slow down, tune in, and enjoy your everyday life…ps we have no plan. xx
