A Little Drop of Sunshine

Us moody girls thrive on those days when the sky mimics a watercolor of grey. The rain is more of a mist than solid drop, and a good scarf hugs our neck just right. Thinking about this now makes me want to curl up and hope for a day like this soon. But with every drop of rain, a drop of sunshine eventually beams down, and when it does, it warms our cheeks just in time.

I can get tangled into the woven threads of a low cloud, rainy, candle lit day. Sometimes a little too tangled and comfortable. So when the sun shines, it reminds me how much that is so needed, and what it does for our mood and soul!

I’m a child of nature, and anytime I can be outside, breathe the Earth’s air and feel the wind - that’s a good day by me. A great day. Throughout my life, struggles, and times of uncertainty, there are two things that have stayed consistent; music, and nature. I would even go so far as to say they are the pillars of what I’m built off of. My parents initiated me into the outside world with kayaking, hikes, swimming with our dogs in the lake, and to have respect from everything to the elephants to the tiny ant on the drive way.

I’m reminded of all these the first day the sun starts shining.

I hope the sun touches your shoulders today, warms your heart, and lightens your spirit.

A little drop of sunshine will do that.
